The Stafix M36R, above, is a ultra high powered energizer with Stafix Cyclic Wave Technology. It puts out 37 joules and has 54 stored joules. We believe it is the largest agricultural energizer available in the US. It is remote ready and you can buy it with or without a remote. You can add one later, if you wish. Stafix claims it will power 220 miles or up to 2500 acres. We sell quite a few of these and to date have not had anyone disappointed in their performance. With the third terminal you also have he option of wiring it up bi- polar, which puts out both positive and negative charges on different fence wires. Features a moving light bar that indicates load and operational information.

The Stafix M20R came out nearly a year ago and replaces the long time classic M18 with a little more power. The M20R puts out 22 output joules and has 34 stored joules. This is a real workhorse of an energizer. We have been very impressed with its power and ability to maintain power under load. It is remote ready and you can buy it with a remote or without with the option to add one later. You can set its address to match your remote. This is a perfect size for the 600 acre + operation. Same features as the M36R above. We have sold quite a number of these and have had very few problems with them. We are very impressed with their performance on larger grazing systems. 4 stars !

We at PowerFlex Fence welcome this new Stafix Energizer to our line-up of perfomers. Its in a size range that we feel fits well for livestock grazing systems. We have sold a lot of 20 joule energizers this past year and in some cases it may have been more than needed. The M15R will offer another good performer for a little less money than the M20R. Stafix Remote Control / Fence Compass

A note about REMOTE CONTROLS
available on the SE36R, SE20R & SE15R
The remote serves as a means to turn your energizer off and on from the fence-line. Yes anywhere. In simple terms it sends a radio signal back through the wire. It works great on 12.5 hi-tensile wire. It does also work on polywire, but is more sensitive. The remote also serves as a fault finder just like the Fence Compass. So, actually you are not paying much more for this unit if you don't already have a Fence Compass or Fault Finder.
The remote can be programmed with 15 different "addresses". We are trying to make sure that they are programmed when we ship them - however if you get one that is not, please read your owners manual. Yep, its confusing in the manual ! Please feel free to call us anytime and we can do it over the phone - preferrably with you at the energizer with a cell phone. Ask for Gary or Jennifer, either of them can guide you thru the process......its really not all that difficult. (You will need two free hands to program. Hint- use your speaker phone option with your cell phone :-))
And, yes you can have more than one remote for an 36, Mnergizer. They just need to be programmed to the same address to match the address of the energizer. One for you and one for the hired hand or the misses. (caution: if the misses has one, you definitely want to keep on her good side, or visa-versa - he,he) |

About 15 years ago I sold a lot of these Speedrite 9800 energizers. I have kept track of many of them over the years and most are still ticking away like they were new. I consider them to very reliable. We have been wanting to add an energizer in the 10 Joule range so this was my first choice. It will fit well with a mid sized grazing system up to around 250 acres or 30 miles of wire with average loads. An early version of this unit was called the model #980 and I still seem many of them working at 25 years+.
The 9800 is a 110V plug in unit and will normally put out between 8500 to 9500 volts, although I have seen more coming out of them. I feel that they also have superior internal lightning protection. They do put out constant power and do not ramp themselves up or down depending upon fence load. Some of the features are:

The Stafix M6 is a good mid range unit that in round numbers works well up to about 200 acres, or 25 miles of average fence. Possibly up to 40 miles on a very clean fence in good condition. The M6 is NOT available with a remote, but has similar features as the big boys above, with cyclic wave technology, light bar etc. It puts out 6 output joules and stored energy of 10 joules. It is capable of approximately 8500V.

We may have started off slow with these, but everyone (including us) is liking them ! They come with both sets of leads - one for a battery or a plug in mains lead. Just choose your lead and plug it in the back of the energizer. In case of a power outage- you could put a battery on this one. There is a light bar that shows output. Also new on this one is a magnetic switch that allows you to check battery condition, change pulse speeds and go into energy conserve modes. You could also put a solar panel on it. Here are a few words about energizers. We have several articles in "The Grazer's Connection" about choosing an energizer, so we hope that you read them also. Briefly, we want you to size your energizer by Output Joules rather than Stored Joules. Probably don't take the claims on the box as gospel. Our suggestion is that one (1) joule will power aproximately 3 to 4 miles of fence. For example, if you will have 12 miles of fence. 12 divided by 3 = 4. So a 4 joule energizer should work. But you may want to add more fence later and a little extra power helps you when the vegetation is growing rampant, so we may suggest that you buy in the 8 joule range. This will also help you when you add more fence as you expand and put in some interior cross fences, etc.

Also - consider the "Condition of your fence" !! By that, we mean that if you are experiencing minor shorts and faults because of insulator problems or if you have lots of fence load from vegetation, then you probably could use more power to compensate. Some producers spray their fencelines and keep them clean, others do not. Whatever your choice or personal preference, then just consider that when choosing an energizer. Another consideration is the type of livestock you want to contain. With cattle or horses, for example, your bottom wire will likely be up out of the grass. However for sheep & goats you will likely have a bottom wire at 6" to 8" off the ground.......so, on wet dewy mornings - you will have a load. In this case, you will be doing yourself a favor to "bump-up" a size or two on your energizer selection. Please don't take this as us trying to over-sell you on your energizer - its just that we know the benefits of having plenty of power on your electric fence. Yes, you can go overboard on this, but the cost of a bigger energizer is very little per foot of fence and you probably won't regret it later.

Stafix Battery Energizers
A note about battery energizers: We almost prefer that you call us about battery energizers - so we can help you pick one that will work best for you. It seems that every farm store in the country has 6 & 12 volt fence chargers on their shelves. Many times people buy what's available rather than what they need. We also feel strongly that if you have electric power available, then you are better off with a plug in energizer - plus you will get a lot more power for your dollar. Battery energizers, however, offer solutions for remote areas and portability. We are also currently working on a solar panel program in which we will be matching up solar panels with a select group of battery energizers. Give us a call on Battery Energizers - we will be happy to guide you towards a unit that will perform for your needs. Stafix also offers large battery units up to 18 output joules for very large remote locations.
The Standard Battery units above right come in a .5, 1.0 and 2.5 ouput joule models. Features a 3-lite display bar. These units are good and reliable but are being phased out by the X series below center. What we have left in stock are priced right. Don't worry about servicing. Stafix AN90
for Strip Grazing
The Stafix AN90 has been around a long time and is a great strip grazer energizer. It operates off of either a 12V auto type battery or 4- "D" cells internally. The D cells will last about 30 to 45 days and the 12V will last about 3-4 months. Dual pulse speeds - will prolong battery life when on slow pulse. This is made for portable fences that you will be moving often of 1/4 to 1/2 mile runs of polywire. Is available with or without a ground stake. Two year warranty. Batteries not included. This little unit is sooo handy to have on hand. It fits in a glove box and can be used for so many purposes - such as quick fixes to water gaps, a quick fence around some hay bales, etc, etc !

O'Briens Little Demon
B6 Portable Strip Grazer
This is a unique little strip grazer energizer (made by O'Briens in New Zealand) that is invaluable for those small runs of polywire, such as strip grazing fall stockpiles. It has been around a couple years and we have gotten good reviews on it. We will be doing more intensive testing on our farms this fall. It runs off of a 6V lattern type battery. If you use the battery we offer you can get up to 40 weeks off of one in random mode. If you use an L'cheapo $3 battery, it will last about 3 to 4 weeks. The B6 has dual pulse modes. One is a regular pulse, the other is a random mode - in which the pulse is staggered in timing. This random mode prolongs battery life. You can hang the B6 off of your polywire and energize it that way, or it comes with a jumper lead as well.

All in one 12V Solar Energizer
Most 12V solar units have 0.25 output joules - The TS75 is 3X's larger with 0.75 output joules ! This one includes the energizer, the solar panel and the internal 12V battery.
