Hi-Tensile Woven Wire Hi-Tensile Woven Wire

Hi-Tensile Woven Wire

This woven wire is constructed of 180K mininum psi hi-tensile woven wire. It is super heavy duty and when installed has a lot of spring and bounce to it. We are very happy with the way this wire installs. When installed on PowerFlex posts it can be easily electrified for special purpose fencing for goat, sheep and exotic enterprises where predator control is a concern. If and when electrified, we offer it with wider vertical stay spacings of 24". CALL US for more spec's and information on this exciting fencing option.

11 - 36 - 9,    330' roll  $321.00 FOB     660' roll  $642.00 FOB

5 - 39 - 24,    660' roll  $214.00 FOB  *NEW* This is a new wire that we have imported to meet requests for a hi-tensile woven wire cattle fence, with a little more height & still with the great qualities of the "grip lock" knot and wider vertical spacings. We have it in 660 foot rolls only.  Math it out yourself   - $0.25 per foot for this wire. With a barbed wire at ground level and a couple barbs or electric smooth wires above, this will make a strong, cost effective and long lived fence. Additionally you could install a stand off hot wire about mid point or to fit your livestock purposes. Note: We are changing this configuration to  5-36-24 with the next order coming in (late October 07)  It will be changed to 36" height wire. The new wire spacing is shown in the drawing below.

Note: the first number = the number of horizonal wires. The second number = the height of the woven wire. The third number = the distance between vertical stays.

We do also stock Bar Clamps and Hayes chain grap stretcher tools. (See bottom of this page, or the Fence Tools page.)

David recently drove to Mississippi to pick up some

"Big Black Pigs". He has them fenced with elecrified 5-36-24

hi-tensile woven wire, mounted on Powerflex Posts.

He says this is working great.

Above is a photo of our 7-36-24 hi-tensile woven wire in a timber setting. This wire is actually a very good choice for area's that go thru the trees. Should a limb or tree fall on the fence, it will react just as any hi-tensile wire fence will. Just cut off the tree limb and the fence will most likely just spring back up with little or no repairs needed.  This fence in this photo is on the Krider farm and is installed on Powerflex posts and Fiberglass Mule Corners. All insulated posts and corners - the woven wire is electrified.

Goats behind 11-36- 9 Hi-tensile woven wire

Besides being super strong and offering great longevity,  "Its pretty - Ain't it !

These two photos, above & below are sheep grazing behind 7-36-24 GripLock hi-tensile woven wire. These fences are in our demo area at our facilities. The wire is mounted on PowerFlex 1-1*8" X 60" line posts in brown color. We used hedge corner posts, and in the lower photo you can see that we used tensioners for tightening the wire.

Below are two  photos from today 1-15-2007 - during our ice storm. The hi-tensile woven wire held  up very well under the extreme weight of this ice. There is virtually no sagging of the wire and the powerflex posts are standing upright and true. The posts used on this fence were 1-1/4" X 60" and spaced 25' apart.

Not all of our hi-tensile woven wire gets installed on powerflex posts and then electrified. Much of it is installed on conventional fence posts along with barbed wire as shown in the photos above and below. The photos are on the Long Shot Ranch near Houston, Missouri. On this project there was about 4 miles of fairly new 5 strand barbed wire fencing currently in place at the perimeters. The operation was switching over from cattle to goats, so wanted a fence that would be goat proof.  I suggested that we utilize the existing posts and wire. Two barbed wires were moved to the bottom and 3 moved to the top.  Then the 7-36-24 woven wire was installed. We also added one hot wire of 12.5 gauge smooth wire on offset brackets at about 16" off the ground on the interior side. It has proven to be a very effective fence. It looks great and will have a long life.
