We stock both the Jobe MegaFlow and the Apex Xtraflow Tank Valves. Both are full flow - diaphram activated. We have them with 3/4" and 1" fittings. We are also in process of adding a brass valve, and will post that information when they arrive. The valve body is the same on both of these (3/4"), so by going to a larger thread fitting, you will not be adding any more volume. We feel that the Jobe & Apex valves are very simular in value and that personal choice dictates which one you use. Some folks like the Jobe better and some like the Apex better.
JOBE MEGAFLOW
We stock the Jobe MEGAFLOW with a 1" plumbing thread. This is an ideal valve for most water troughs or just about anything that will hold water and you can "poke a hole in" for a livestock drinker. Here in the Ozarks, we've seen some real genuine ingenuity ! Hey, we are supportive of effective alternatives for livestock watering - why spend $1000 for a waterer when you can design your own for less than $100.
This Jobe Megaflow valve can be installed either horizonally or vertically.

APEX ULTRAFLOW
The APEX UltraFlow is another good reliable trough valve that can be used for many applications. David prefers the Jobe, and Gary prefers the Apex. Its just your personal preference. The Apex we stock has the long tail on it, which gives you a little more thread to work with on your hookups. Its is a 3/4" hookup. Note that the valve capacity and flow rate is the same on 3/4. 1" or 1-1/4" - the differences are only in the plumbing threads.

Above is an Apex Valve in a tire tank. Below is an enlarged view. These valves can be mounted vertical or horizonal. This illustration shows a plumbing configuration with elbows to keep the valve on the bottom of the tank to give you a bit more string length to the float for adjustments in a shorter (height) tire tank.
The Hansen Fitting (or nut-set) is an optional device that gives you options on your hook up through the sidewall of your water tank. It is a 3/4" thread with rubber gasketed flanges. Makes for a water tite seal. (We have tried to make these numerious times with washers, nuts and homemade gaskets and they always seem to leak -- The Hansen does not.)

Below is a picture of a Plasson Quick Coupler Valve attached directly to a Hansen "T" fitting. This fitting is a 1" X 1" X 3/4". The 3/4" valve threads attach directly to the T.
