Quality Fencing Tools

The Hayes EZ Pull Fence Tool is probably the best EVER made. It is a 4 in 1 tool that cuts wire, crimps the 2-3 crimp sleeve, strips insulated wire and also serves as a staple puller. It's an all around tool for working with 12.5 gauge hi-tensile wire. It's made in New Zealand and there is none better.
Item # EZP $150.00

The Hayes EZ Crimp Fence Tool is an all around favorite and top shelf for ease of use. It cuts wire, strips insulated wire, and has two crimp slots. It has a 2-3 slot as well as a 3-4 slot. So, you can also use it for crimping the CT4 open taps. This unit is Gary's favorite for working with hi-tensile wire. Like the EZP it is lightweight and a pleasure to use. Made in New Zealand.
Item # EZC $125.00

Note: Our stock on the above two Hayes Tools are currently labeled with Stay Tuff labels. We guarantee that they are of the same high quality as indicated above and made in NZ. It is just a clitch in the distribution chain - the new ones will look like those in the photo below, with Stay Tuff labels and black handle grips. We feel well assured that they are made in the same factory in NZ, and are stamped by Johnstone MFG, Hamilton NZ. Sorry for any confusion. Call us if you have any questions on these tools.

The Original New Zealand Crimping Tools

Our Multi Purpose Fence Tool Kit includes a good tool, that crimps the 2-3 sleeve, cuts wire, strips coated wire and pulls staples. It does much the same as the Hayes EZ Pull above with a budget price. It also comes in a carry case, including a bottle of 100 free C23 crimps and an adjustment tool. This would make a great "stocking stuffer" for that fence builder in your life.
Item # MPFT $80.00

This is our Basic 4 Slot Crimp Tool and is a good choice if you are going to use multiple sizes of crimps. It is a little heavier than the Hayes tools but does a good job of crimping and a good value for the dollar. It does not cut wire, but it will crimp all 4 basic sleeves, the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and the 4-5 sleeves. The inset picture above shows the slots in the tool head. A allen wrench is provided for adjustment of the tool.
Item # 4SCT $ 49.00

Hand Pliers & Wire Cutters

Knipex Fence Pliers are a real plus when working with hi-tensile wire. They cut our 180K psi wire with ease. These have a good set of jaws that also come in handy with many tasks when building fence. German made and high quality.
Item # 170 $31.00

A Trio of Knipex pliers for working with hi-tensile wire. The first time we saw these, it was love at first sight. The first time we used them, we got married! Wow, do these pliers cut wire. We've bragged on the # 170 Knipex lineman pliers above for years and they are still great, but these really do cut the wire. The cutting edge is double sided and goes all the way to the tip, so they are fantastic when working with woven wire. They are especially good for stripping vertical stays of fixed knots. The K71-11 has a spring, but it doesn't open too wide for my grip, and I have stubby fingers - and it has a clip on the bottom to hold them closed when not in use (makes for a good pocket fit). The K71-02 fits your hand great and makes a day's work less fatiguing. The K71-01 feels good too, but it really fits a pant leg pocket nicely. If you ever lose a pair of these, you WILL have to buy another pair!

The FSC above is a good all around fence plier for hi-tensile wire. Many people "swear" by them. The cutter is on the side and the jaws open in a parallel fashion, so they grip wire for pulling extremely well. They also cut wire very well. Made in England and of good quality. My old bud, Willy Killmer uses these exclusively.
Item # FSC $42.00

Knipex Cable & Wire Cutter

A small pair of Cable Cutters that fit your hand great.

These do cut cable great, which is what they are made for, but they will also cut hi-tensile wire too. There is a spring that opens them, with a lock lever to keep them closed while in your pocket.
Item # KCC $ 29.00 each

** NEW **

This is a new H-Tensile Wire Cutter that we are introducing. David has been testing these for a couple of months now and he likes them and says they are holding up very well. They are made somewhat of the design of the Knipex K71 01 pliers above, without the name brand. They cut HT wire very well, are compact and fit the pocket great. We don't actually think they will last as long as a Knipex, but for the price we think they are a great value and will do the job for you.
Item # HTWC $29.00
______________

Economy Pliers actually do cut hi-tensile wire quite well. We use them. We feel that they are a good value for the dollar, especially if you can't justify twice the price for a really good pair. If you have just a small job to do they will fit your needs.
Item # DWC $15.00

Super Econo Pliers

These economy pliers are not the ones that you want to cut wire with all day long.- but they have a place and are priced right. If you need extra pairs to put in various vehicles or tool boxes these will do a pretty good job for limited usage. They aren't Knipex but will work for a fraction of the price.
Item # HTWC $ 9.00 per pair

Wire Bending Tool

We've had a lot of people asking for this little wire bending tool, so we now have them in stock. They come in quite handy for bending your ends on woven wire at corner posts, and they work well in tight places. Hey, be a big spender and buy a dozen and hand 'em out to your friends ! 3 holes for different gauges of wire. Also has a hole in the end of the handle that comes in real handy too, great for bending wire ties, cotter pins, etc.
Item WTT $ 1.50 each

The Hayes # H300 Chain Grab
Used for Tensioning smooth wire (such as 12.5 gauge hi-tensile). Has wire grabs on each end to bring 2 pieces of hi-tensile wire together. The cast claws lock onto the chain as you walk it up and tension. It can be used with smooth and coated wires. Especially useful for repairs where you want to tension up the wire and install a crimp sleeve. High quality, made by Hayes in New Zealand.
Item # H300 $65.00

The Hayes Clamp Strainer, shown above, is used to attach to your Bar Clamps in tensioning woven wire together. There is a chain hook on both ends that attaches to the loops in the Bar Clamp. One end has a 19 foot chain that the Grabs attach to. You "walk" the grabs up the chain to tension. Safe working load is 1323 pounds. Once desired tension is achieved, the wire is cut and crimped. This is the "Traditional" way to tension fabricated woven wire fence.
Item # H406 Hayes Clamp Strainer $95.00 each

Stretcher Bars with Wedges
These Stretcher Bars are used to "hold" your woven wire in place, thus allowing you to attach a tensioning device to tighten your woven wire to proper tension. Typically, two (2) of the Hayes H406 Clamp strainers above are attached to the loops in the Stretcher Bar. The bars lay on the ground and the wire layed over them. Once positioned and squared up with the wire, the wedges are driven in, thus giving you a good positive & square attachment. We stock these in 4' length only, but they are available for up 8'.

Bosch Rotary Hammer Drill
Item # B11240 $ 459.00 with case
Due to a fact of nature - sometimes the ground is so hard and dry that you have a difficult time driving and installing line posts for your electric fence project. We are now offering a Bosch Rotary Hammer Drill to assist you when you get into those hard soil conditions or solid rock. Now you can easily work right thru these situations. We looked into the selection of this tool in depth. We wanted one that would do the job without a lot of bells and whistles. Just a tool - made for the job. We visited with many construction rental business's and contractors to determine which tool would be the most reliable and trouble free, while doing its intended job. Specifications on the tool are below. This is a 110V unit, so you will need a generator to run it. Recommendation is a minimum of a 3000 watt generator. We have several different bit sizes available as well as an attachment for driving ground rods too. The bits are carbide tipped and usually last near a year in a rental store. They are tough and the flighting does a good job of augering out the dirt and rock chips. Bit type is SDS MAX. Read more below about bit choices.

Bits and Selection of Bits for PowerFlex Posts

Here are the Bit Sizes that we are stocking
Bits are approximately 22" long
Drill depth is about 18"
Item # Size Price
DB-1 1" x 22" $ 45.00
DB-118 1-1/8" x 22" $ 64.00
DB-114 1-1/4" X 22" $ 80.00
DB-112 1-1/2" X 22" $ 94.00
DB-1916 1-9/16" X 22" $ 118.00
GRD Ground Rod Driver $ 59.00
Other sizes are available - up to 36" long - call for pricing.
Bit Selection: This will be our recommendation for bit selection for Powerflex Posts. In general, undersize your drilled hole so that the post still needs to be driven. This will give a snug fit and good ground holding power for the post.
-
For the 1-1/8" posts use a 1" bit unless you are going thru solid rock or concrete, in which case use the 1-1/8" bit, or you can oversize the hole and pour in some rocktite material.
-
For the 1-1/4" posts use a 1-1/8" bit, unless you are going thru solid rock or concrete, in which case use the 1-1/4" bit, or you can oversize the hole and pour in some rocktite material.
-
For the 1-5/8" Bull Posts use either the 1-1/2" or 1-9/16" bit depending on your soil conditions. If in solid rock use the larger size.
-
Got any questions or concerns - give us a call anytime 417-741-1230.
We expect these bits to last a long time for what we are intending them to be used for - and that is for drilling earth in pasture. We are told that they usually last a year in a rental store in which they drill a lot of concrete. So for general farm & ranch fence building purposes, they should last years.
