Electric Fencing
Electric fence is the most effective tool a working rancher has for managing pasture, protecting livestock, and getting real production out of rotational grazing. We've been outfitting ranchers with it since 1994 — about 20,000 of them — and every product on this site has either been tested on our own land or vetted by partners running real operations.
What we carry
- Energizers — Speedrite, Stafix, Gallagher, and Powerflex-branded chargers from 0.5 to 36 joules, AC / solar / DC / dual-power.
- Polybraid — our flagship 9-strand conductor. 300-lb break strength, 5–7 year UV life. Stainless or mixed-metal for long runs.
- Reels & accessories — geared hand reels, pre-wound reels, replacement spools.
- Posts — fiberglass, treated, sucker rod, step-in for portable work.
- Grounding, switches, gates, and connectors — the rest of the system, not just the wire.
Where to start
If you're new to electric fencing — or new to rotational grazing — the fastest path is one of our species-specific starter kits. Each one is a tested combination that gets you energized and contained on day one:
- Cattle electric fence kit — 15 products for beef and dairy operations.
- Sheep & goats kit — netting + energizer + posts for multi-species, predator-aware operations.
- Horse kit — visible, safe polybraid setups.

Pick the right charger
The most common mistake is buying an undersized energizer. Rough rule: one joule of output per mile of energized wire, then size up two to three times to handle vegetation, weather, and short paddocks where the fence shorts more often. Our How to Size Your Electric Fence Charger guide has a decision tree and a free calculator that covers AC vs solar vs DC vs dual-power.
Going solar specifically? The Solar Charger Sizing by Acres guide covers solar setups for rotational grazing.
