Jobe Topaz 1-1/4" Short Tail Float Valve – Largest-Inlet Compact Trough Valve

The Jobe Topaz 1-1/4" Short Tail is a high-flow water trough float valve for large livestock troughs, stock tanks and water tanks. It has the largest inlet in the Topaz range and flows more water than the 3/4" Topaz at the same pressure.

The short tail gives a compact, low-profile connection. Like every Topaz, it uses a pilot-operated diaphragm that opens for high flow and closes gradually to help reduce water hammer. Set the water level by hand with no tools, and lock it off whenever you need to.

Built for big herds and high-demand watering points, from corrosion-resistant materials, with a built-in port for Jobe's FrostPro anti-freeze device (sold separately) for cold weather.

Tool-Free Adjustment & Lock Switch
Set the water level by hand, and lock the valve in the off position when you need to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Long tail or short tail — which do I need?
The 1-1/4" short tail has a 1" thread for a compact connection. If you're mounting through a trough or tank wall, the 1-1/4" long tail has a 2-3/8" thread and comes with a backnut and seal washer.

Will it work on a gravity-fed system?
The Topaz operates from 5 psi (0.3 bar) up to 100 psi (7 bar), covering many gravity-fed and pressurized systems.

How do I prevent back-siphoning?
Jobe recommends mounting the valve at least two inlet diameters above the trough's overflow. Some mounting positions may not comply with local regulations, so check yours.
