The Strainrite FX2 Contractor Chain Strainer is the fixed-handle model in Strainrite's wire tensioning range, built around a solid one-piece 22mm (7/8") handle. It's deliberately slimmer than the 27mm Standard model — sized for frequent contractor use, where the tool is in your hand all day rather than now and then. It ships ready to work, with the 1.2m (47") chain and grab assembly and the spring kit already installed.
Underneath the size difference it's the same proven NZ-made chain strainer: heat-treated Spheroidal Graphite cast iron claws and grips, wear-resistant smooth-grip jaws that hold all common sizes of fence wire while minimising damage to the strand, and gold zinc plating throughout. It's the strainer contractors reach for in competitive fencing.

Solid One-Piece 22mm (7/8") Handle: Slimmer than the 27mm Standard handle — smaller in the hand, ideal for frequent and contractor use.
Spring Kit Installed: Guides the claws across the chain as you strain — fitted as standard on the FX2 (an optional extra on the Standard model).
SG Cast Iron Claws and Grips: Heat-treated Spheroidal Graphite cast iron for a long service life.
Wear-Resistant Smooth Grip Jaws: Hold all common sizes of fence wire while minimising wire damage.
Improved Casting Design: Computer-designed geometry for effective grip on zinc and aluminium-coated fencing wire.
Gold Zinc Plating Throughout: Increased corrosion protection across handle, chain and fittings, with heavy-duty rivets and a tested 1.2m chain with swivel.
