On a hi-tensile electric fence, every connection point is a potential voltage leak — and a strainer that doesn't insulate properly is a grounding point waiting to happen. The Strainrite Hi-Test Insul-Strainer combines the wire tensioning function of a standard strainer with built-in insulation, so you can tension your hi-tensile wire at the post without creating a ground fault at the connection point.
