A standard pigtail carries one wire, which is fine until you are containing anything smaller than adult cattle. Lambs, calves and goats all go under a single hot wire, and the answer is more conductors — not more posts. The Strainrite Multiwire Pigtail Post runs a second polywire from the same post: the pigtail loop on top carries the upper wire, and the hook insulator on the shaft carries the lower one.
The whole shaft is insulated, so the lower wire can't short to the steel. Underneath it's galvanised spring steel that flexes and springs back, on a galvanised pressed-steel foot that Strainrite rates as one of the best ground holds on the market. Supplied in a 10 pack — paddock-sized for strip and rotational grazing.
Features
Two Wire Positions: Pigtail loop at the top plus a hook insulator on the shaft — set the fence for lambs, kids or calves without doubling the post count.
Stronger Hook Insulator: Thicker, stronger hook for a longer service life, with a wider gap so knots in the polywire pass straight through.
Fully Insulated Shaft: Injection-moulded insulator over the full shaft, in thicker material, so the lower wire runs live against the post.
Galvanised Spring Steel Shaft: Stressed posts flex and spring back to shape instead of taking a set when stock lean on them.
UV-Stabilised Pigtail Loop: Extruded polyprop loop that is harder wearing and resistant to cracking after a season in the sun.
Galvanised Pressed-Steel Foot: Proven superior ground holding through repeated driving and pulling.
