“Tight enough” is the most expensive phrase in fencing. Under-strain and the fence sags into a maintenance job within a season. Over-strain and you are pulling posts out of the ground or snapping wire at the crimps. Neither shows up until the damage is done.
The Strainrite Wire Tension Tester MKII gives you an actual figure. Clip it on the wire, read the scale, strain to spec — instant, accurate readings from 50kg to 340kg (110–750 lb), calibrated for 2.5mm, 3.15mm and 4.0mm wire, so it covers 12.5, 10 and 8 gauge high-tensile from the one tool. Because it reads the wire itself, it works alongside whatever strainer is already on the fence. On a long high-tensile run where every wire should come up matched, that is the difference between a fence line that looks built and one that looks guessed.
