Insulator short-outs are the quiet killer on an electric fence — that snapping sound down the line is your energizer bleeding power to the post, and it gets worse the wetter it gets. The Joule Shield range was built to stop it, and Strainrite has had it independently tested against standard insulators to prove it.

The twin shield design withstands 100% more voltage in wet conditions than a standard insulator — approximately 20,000V against 10,000V wet insulation capacity in Strainrite's testing, well clear of typical energizer output. Thicker walls and structural web bracing add strength where standard insulators crack and fail, rounded surfaces shed water faster instead of holding it against the post, and the long-life UV-stabilised plastic is designed and made in New Zealand with a 12-year guarantee.
